Yesterday, we had a bit of a different LowDown (our youth class at TC). We discussed turning our personal style and dress into worship to God...a concept that hit me yesterday morning. If clothing is a language, then let's use it to worship God. In other words, dress to glorify God...not self!
P.S. Josephs coat of many colors expressed his father's love for him (sounds like Paul Smith to me)! lol ;P

I found this article on the subject of clothing and it rang true for our family and what we believe in, concerning our wardrobes. Read it and see what you all think.
What Your Clothes Say About You
by Joanne Brokaw
If you’re into basic, no-frills jeans and tees, you might be the guy or girl next door. You like to go with the flow and are comfortable socializing in a variety of social groups. In fact, you probably play sports, are in the school play and belong to the science club! While it’s okay to be comfy, set some fashion boundaries so you don’t slip over the edge into messy.
If you’re always scouring the fashion magazines for the hottest new styles, you’re a trendsetter. You make your own accessories, like to take fashion risks and aren’t afraid to stand out in a crowd. You may be the campus fashion barometer, but don’t put too much emphasis on your looks. Remember that inner beauty counts in God’s eyes.
Can’t decide between your favorite jeans or army fatigues? Do you wear flip flops one day and leather boots the next? Or does your wardrobe consist of one basic color - black? You’re a creative person who thinks outside the box, and your varying moods reflect your free spirit. Just remember that your nonconformist attitude is no excuse for rude or rebellious behavior.
Are you partial to tailored clothing that borders on business casual, like khakis or dress pants and button-down shirts? You’re probably the student council type - refined, organized and a natural leader. You’re direct, confident and diplomatic. But don’t forget to have some fun once in a while.
Each of us has been blessed with a unique personality that shines brightly in our appearance - no matter how hard we try to follow the latest fashion trends. But remember that the ultimate guidebook for fashion and appearance is God’s Word. First Peter 2:3-4 reminds us that modesty, grace and purity should be the standards by which we choose our clothing, and our goal should be to live in the world in a way that pleases God, not the world (Romans 12:2).
Verses from the NIV
1 Peter 2:3-4
(3)Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. (4)Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
Romans 12:2
(2)Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.
